College is a Waste of Time and Money!!

The point of going to college is to graduate and get a good job.  But half of the degrees colleges offer are a waste of time and money!  Degrees like Art, History, etc..  are probably not worth the money spent on them!  It’s not like you can get a degree to paint and then go apply somewhere to paint paintings.  With or without an Art degree, that job requires you to get your own customers.  This is the misconception of many young folks out there!  That if they just get any degree they are better off, or that somebody will hand them a job because of it.  While at the same time, some of their cohorts that didn’t go to college are better off just from the job experience that they accumulated instead of going to school.  There are people who drop out of high school, start a business, and become millionaires.  And there’s people who have a ton of college but are poor.  Because at the end of the day, your success is left up to YOU to accomplish!

There are some jobs that you have to go to college for any order to do the work.  For example; Nursing, Teaching, etc..  It doesn’t matter if you could be better than any nurse just for your experience.  If you don’t have the degree/license, you will never be a nurse!  The ideal thing to do would be to find out what you want to be and do what it takes to get that job.  Not to just go to college and hope you land somewhere!  If you want to be a teacher, then go to college for that.  If you want to make a living playing guitar, then you don’t need college.  Just go play guitar!  All an employer cares about is hiring the best person for the job with as little money as possible to do it.  If the job doesn't require a degree/license and one person has 4 years of college and the other has just high school, if the employer thinks the person with just high school will better get the job done.  Then that's who will be hired.  The other guy don't get the job just because he has the 4 year degree.  This is the rule unless its friend/family being hired.  Knowing the right people is as important, if not more, than the college degree!!  Now if an employer has to have a licensed person for a job, then they have to hire the best licensed person they can find.  Your value is determined by haw rare of a skill you possess.  If anybody can do your skill, you probably won't make that much money.  If you are the only one who can do your skill, you can probably name your price!

The most important thing in life is to be happy!  So if being a nurse is the #1 thing you wanted to do with you life, then don’t let nothing stop you from doing that!  Don’t let having to go into debt to go to college scare you from going!  Because if you save the money but aren’t happy cause you didn’t get to be a nurse, then it doesn’t matter you saved the money!  If you go into debt for college and come out the other side with the job you want, that’s good debt.  If you go into debt to college and come out the other side without a job, that’s bad debt!  If you do have to go into debt for college, common sense would be to find the cheapest way to go to school.  Like anything else; the rich have their college paid for and the middle class go in debt.  Student loan debt is another way to keep people enslaved to a bank.  Student loan debt would be the last debt I'd ever pay off if I ever paid it off!  Because most student loan debt is the only debt forgiven when you die.  And I think most are forgiven after 20 years.  So if I paid off 100k in student loan debt and died, I would be dead with nothing to pass on.  If I had the 100k in the bank, 100k in student loans, and died.  The debt would be forgiven, and my heirs would get the 100k.  This is why a lot of people don't want to pay off their student loan debt.

Society teaches us that payoff comes from sacrifice.  This is not always true!  It means that if you sacrifice by starting at the bottom and working your way up, you’ll be the one rewarded.  This is true if you start at the bottom of your chosen career, not starting at the bottom at a minimum wage job.  It’s a good thing to pursue your dreams but do it with as little of sacrifice as possible!  Life is too short to sacrifice!  Some people have the mentality that they’ll work 60 hours a week until their 50, and then they’ll kick back and start enjoying life like the way they want to.  But not everybody makes it to 50!!  Each day is precious!  I think we should enjoy all parts of our lives.  Yes we have to work and make money!  But if you sacrifice your life away for the future, you’re going to find when the future comes that what you saved for is gone!

You should not assume that just because a rich person has a degree that’s how they got rich and if you get the same degree you’ll be rich like them too.  A lot of rich kids don’t go to college because they have to, to get a job.  They go cause their parents have the money and you can’t be a rich kid and not have a degree.  Because their job is already lined up for them, getting the degree is just going through the motions.  Plus kids go to college for sex, drugs, and rock and roll!  Of course the parents know this and are ok with it, but don’t say so in public.  That’s why their kid goes to college in another city so nobody back home will see what he/she is really doing!  And yes this even goes for the Christian families too!  There’s a famous line to a song that says, “The poor man goes to work and the rich man goes to college.”  It’s just the way things are.  The rich have one lifestyle and the poor have another.  That’s way you should just do what you can and enjoy the moment!!
