How is Hurricane Sandy going to effect the election?

I don’t think anyone would disagree that Hurricane Sandy is going to have some type of impact on the election!  It’s just whether it’s going to help Obama or Romney?  Is Hurricane Sandy going to be Obama’s Katrina?  The New England states usually mostly vote Democrat but losing just one of these New England states could cost Obama the election!  Since I believe it’s going to be a close race anyways.  Does Obama want to be re-elected?  Is it possible he’d want to mismanaged Sandy to cost himself the election?  There’s a lot that could of already been done that politicians are standing in the way of!  These people in the disaster areas don’t have power and have to wait in line hours to get gas, and some have gone days without eating.  I don’t think voting is the first thing on these people’s minds if things aren’t straightened out by Tuesday!  Which that would seem to benefit Romney.  If people, generally, think Obama has done a good job with hurricane Sandy, that can boost his turnout.  Just the opposite if he is viewed as doing a crappy job with Sandy.  What if people don’t have electricity on Tuesday to vote?  I’m sure there will be some judges making injunctions on Tuesday to keep polls open past closing times for disenfranchised voters!  Who knows how this will play out!  The most important thing is that the people affected by Hurricane Sandy will get the assistance they need!  We’ll have to wait till Tuesday night to see what effects Sandy will have on the election!   What do you think? - Juggs Ó 2012

Soundtrack for the TV Movie, Elvis and the Beauty Queen

Elvis and the Beauty Queen is a 1981 made-for-TV film starring Don Johnson and Stephanie Zimbalist.

Don Johnson stars as Elvis Presley in this made-for-TV true story about The King's love affair with Linda Thompson (Stephanie Zimbalist), a young beauty pageant contestant who was his live-in girlfriend and traveling companion for the last four years of his life. The story begins with their first meeting and traces their years together when Thompson tried to keep Presley off drugs in the last years of his career.  It aired on NBC-TV on March 1, 1981 at 9pm.

Seven songs were recorded for the soundtrack in Nashville, Tennessee, with country singer Ronnie McDowell providing the vocals.  The band that backed Ronnie McDowell was The Glass Hammer, a Nashville based band. The Glass Hammer consisted of Joe Meador: Guitar, Don Lee: Lead Guitar, Bill Conn: Keyboards and Horns, Larry Leath: Bass, and Rick Judkins: Drums.  The soundtrack was originally going to be recorded in Los Angeles, CA with a local L.A. band but L.A. was having a writers strike at the time.  So the call went to Nashville, TN.

Who Ruined the Country?

The Republicans blame the problems of the country on the Democrats and the Democrats blame the Republicans.  People say all the time that the government is mismanaged and it should be run like a business, and we should elect a businessman to fix the problems.  Well, who runs the government?  Most of the members of Congress, Republican and Democrat, are Lawyers and successful Businessmen.  Most of the members of every cabinet, Republican or Democrat, are successful Businessmen from Wall Street.  So the screwed up problems of the government are the blame of Businessmen, the people who elected them, and the business's that contribute money to these campains.  And the solution to fix the problems of the country that businessmen caused in the first place is to?  Elect a businessman?  - Juggs Ó 2012

How to Replace a broke F150 Cylinder Lock

I couldn't find this information anywhere on the web, so I wanted to share my experience here!

How to fix a broken ignition cylinder lock on a 1997 Ford F150 pickup.  Other models should be similar.  Any method’s I found in repair manuals only show how to remove a working cylinder.  By turning the ignition to run, inserting a small tool to depress the tab on the bottom of the cylinder, and pulling it out to remove it.  It doesn’t say what you do if your ignition will not turn over with the key inserted.  Here are two suggestions:

One, you can drill out the cylinder tab at the bottom of the cylinder lock.  Be very careful not to drill the hole that holds in the cylinder lock.  If you widen the mounting hole too much, it won’t hold the new cylinder lock in place.  This tab is the only thing that holds the cylinder lock in when the ignition is in the run position.  The tab and the end of the cylinder are what hold it in place when the cylinder is in the off position.  If you use this method you will most likely break a plate inside the column that holds the gear in place that tell the car what ignition position you’re in.  This part cost $3-$4 from Ford.

Two, you can drill out the cylinder lock where the key inserts.  This will cause a mess!  If possible, you’ll have to drill the lock until it rotates to the run position so you won’t break any other parts in the column.  *Photo Below:  What the cylinder should look like when you remove the cylinder lock.*

If you break the stationary plate in the column, this was unavoidable in my case, buy a new one.  You can regrease this parts it you like as you put them back in.  The inner parts of the column may or may not fall out when you remove the cylinder lock.  If they do, the gear goes in first.  These parts only go in one way.  The gear has three prominent points on it, two of them are side by side and the other one is alone.  The one that’s alone should point straight down.  If your ignition doesn’t work right, you’ll have to adjust this gear until it’s in the proper place.  Next the stationary metal plate goes in.  You’ll have to insert it in horizontal until it’s all the way in and then turn it vertical.  This metal plate doesn’t move but the gear does.  The plate also holds the gear in.  Then you insert the plastic clip that snaps on the metal plate.  This also goes in vertical, but stays vertical.  Make sure your gear and plate are lined up.  Then install your new cylinder lock, with it in the run position.  If your ignition doesn’t start right, you’ll have to adjust the inner gear.

College is a Waste of Time and Money!!

The point of going to college is to graduate and get a good job.  But half of the degrees colleges offer are a waste of time and money!  Degrees like Art, History, etc..  are probably not worth the money spent on them!  It’s not like you can get a degree to paint and then go apply somewhere to paint paintings.  With or without an Art degree, that job requires you to get your own customers.  This is the misconception of many young folks out there!  That if they just get any degree they are better off, or that somebody will hand them a job because of it.  While at the same time, some of their cohorts that didn’t go to college are better off just from the job experience that they accumulated instead of going to school.  There are people who drop out of high school, start a business, and become millionaires.  And there’s people who have a ton of college but are poor.  Because at the end of the day, your success is left up to YOU to accomplish!

There are some jobs that you have to go to college for any order to do the work.  For example; Nursing, Teaching, etc..  It doesn’t matter if you could be better than any nurse just for your experience.  If you don’t have the degree/license, you will never be a nurse!  The ideal thing to do would be to find out what you want to be and do what it takes to get that job.  Not to just go to college and hope you land somewhere!  If you want to be a teacher, then go to college for that.  If you want to make a living playing guitar, then you don’t need college.  Just go play guitar!  All an employer cares about is hiring the best person for the job with as little money as possible to do it.  If the job doesn't require a degree/license and one person has 4 years of college and the other has just high school, if the employer thinks the person with just high school will better get the job done.  Then that's who will be hired.  The other guy don't get the job just because he has the 4 year degree.  This is the rule unless its friend/family being hired.  Knowing the right people is as important, if not more, than the college degree!!  Now if an employer has to have a licensed person for a job, then they have to hire the best licensed person they can find.  Your value is determined by haw rare of a skill you possess.  If anybody can do your skill, you probably won't make that much money.  If you are the only one who can do your skill, you can probably name your price!

The most important thing in life is to be happy!  So if being a nurse is the #1 thing you wanted to do with you life, then don’t let nothing stop you from doing that!  Don’t let having to go into debt to go to college scare you from going!  Because if you save the money but aren’t happy cause you didn’t get to be a nurse, then it doesn’t matter you saved the money!  If you go into debt for college and come out the other side with the job you want, that’s good debt.  If you go into debt to college and come out the other side without a job, that’s bad debt!  If you do have to go into debt for college, common sense would be to find the cheapest way to go to school.  Like anything else; the rich have their college paid for and the middle class go in debt.  Student loan debt is another way to keep people enslaved to a bank.  Student loan debt would be the last debt I'd ever pay off if I ever paid it off!  Because most student loan debt is the only debt forgiven when you die.  And I think most are forgiven after 20 years.  So if I paid off 100k in student loan debt and died, I would be dead with nothing to pass on.  If I had the 100k in the bank, 100k in student loans, and died.  The debt would be forgiven, and my heirs would get the 100k.  This is why a lot of people don't want to pay off their student loan debt.

Society teaches us that payoff comes from sacrifice.  This is not always true!  It means that if you sacrifice by starting at the bottom and working your way up, you’ll be the one rewarded.  This is true if you start at the bottom of your chosen career, not starting at the bottom at a minimum wage job.  It’s a good thing to pursue your dreams but do it with as little of sacrifice as possible!  Life is too short to sacrifice!  Some people have the mentality that they’ll work 60 hours a week until their 50, and then they’ll kick back and start enjoying life like the way they want to.  But not everybody makes it to 50!!  Each day is precious!  I think we should enjoy all parts of our lives.  Yes we have to work and make money!  But if you sacrifice your life away for the future, you’re going to find when the future comes that what you saved for is gone!

You should not assume that just because a rich person has a degree that’s how they got rich and if you get the same degree you’ll be rich like them too.  A lot of rich kids don’t go to college because they have to, to get a job.  They go cause their parents have the money and you can’t be a rich kid and not have a degree.  Because their job is already lined up for them, getting the degree is just going through the motions.  Plus kids go to college for sex, drugs, and rock and roll!  Of course the parents know this and are ok with it, but don’t say so in public.  That’s why their kid goes to college in another city so nobody back home will see what he/she is really doing!  And yes this even goes for the Christian families too!  There’s a famous line to a song that says, “The poor man goes to work and the rich man goes to college.”  It’s just the way things are.  The rich have one lifestyle and the poor have another.  That’s way you should just do what you can and enjoy the moment!! What Do You Think?? - Juggs Ó 2012
